Child Protection & Safeguarding at BYIS

Child Protection & Safeguarding at BYIS
At BYIS, safeguarding every child’s wellbeing is our highest priority. We are fully committed to protecting students from harm, neglect, abuse, and exploitation, in line with Thai law and international best practices including the UNCRC and UK’s Keeping Children Safe in Education (2024).

Our comprehensive Child Protection & Safeguarding Policy outlines clear procedures for prevention, early intervention, and response. It applies to all staff, volunteers, visitors, and contractors on or off campus. Key features include:

Zero-tolerance approach to abuse of any kind

Safer recruitment and rigorous background checks for all adults

Mandatory annual training and clear reporting procedures

Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs) in each department

Immediate response protocol using official reporting forms

Online safety measures and digital citizenship education

Secure, confidential records retained in line with Thai and international data protection laws

We partner closely with parents and external agencies, ensuring a child-centred, trauma-informed, and culturally respectful approach to safeguarding.
