"Our mission in Beaconhouse Yamsaard School has transformed over time in response to economic, social, and technological changes. Leaders and educational authorities worldwide are constantly striving to find the best ways to educate students with the skills needed for the 21st century. BYS Ladprao has responded to his challenge by integrating the 21st Century Framework into our curriculum. Our structured play-based learning targets all the essential skills in the Kindergarten department. The students are exposed to inquiry-based learning at an early stage so they learn to ask questions and experiment with their curious minds. Our kindergarten teacher provide them with an enabling environment to facilitate learning and scaffold from the engage stage until the express stage. In fourth years of PBL implementation, our teachers and students once again successfully demonstrated their research and innovation skills and presented their amazing final products to
a wide audience at our Open House Show last September. This year, the student's voice and choice were given higher importance as they formulated their independent driving questions from the launching event. Teamwork and IT integration were better served this year with the student's input for the completion of their final product. For example, P4 created a fusion menu, P5 built household robots from recycled materials, and P6 learned various life skills and was able to communicate a good message about "finding a balance" when using technology to communicate. Our goal for this academic year is to create a school community that values all learners and to develop an environment for interdisciplinary projects that ensure contextualized learning while enhancing future skills. We look forward to a very productive academic year at BYS Ladprao.
