K2 yellow is currently working with the ILP theme “Can I switch it on?” We have been learning about technology and the different ways people use technology. This week we focused on tech toys, how we use them, and why people love them! After drawing their own tech toys the students then had an opportunity to bring them to life! The K2 students used a variety of materials to build their own tech toy inventions!

BYIS was bustling with curious families who came to visit our learning spaces, meet our management team and understand the incredible learning opportunities their children will have at BYIS.

It was also a great opportunity to present our school’s vision and curriculum to our prospective parents. We are looking forward to a productive and wonderful partnership to ensure that your children can achieve their highest potential.

Board game

During phonics, K2 Blue played a board game where the students selected a counter based on the first letter of their name. Next, they rolled the dice, had to count the dots on the dice, move their counter along that many spaces, and then practice their blending. We are using our ‘magic reading arm’ to sound out CVC words and blend the sounds together.

Nursery Tesco Field Trip 2020

Field trip for our current theme: “Why can’t I have chocolate for breakfast?” We went to Tesco to shop for ingredients for our baking lessons coming up. Students enjoyed holding the baskets and selecting all the food we needed on our shopping lists.

K2 yellow is currently working with the ILP theme “Can I switch it on?” The students used technology to help solve riddles in order to find a hidden treasure. They watched video recordings of teachers providing clues that helped them get from one location to the next!

Loy Krathong 2020

On Friday 30th October 2020 BYIS opened its doors once again for our parents as we celebrated Loy Kratong. The students wore traditional Thai outfits and had the chance to make their own Kratongs with their parents while listening to traditional Thai music. To end the celebration the Kratongs were floated and we were able to see all the beautiful colours of each Kratong.
