Play Play based learning in Kindergarten 2

      The first week of school K2 has been exploring their sensory motor skills with the topic being “What can you see in summer”. The students were super excited to create a play-do ice cream using different smells, colours and decorative toppings. Talks about summer time and sun safety. We all agreed that ice-cream was thier favourite thing to do in summer. We then moved onto exploring more senses (touch, smell, sight, hearing and of course tasting!) with the Watermelon squishing activity. It was fascinating to see every single student naturally switched on their scientific thinking. There was lots of laughter and interaction with each other all students loved to squish and taste the watermelon all coming back for seconds. The classroom was filled with a warming glow of watermelon pink ambience!
